A bit of girlishness

My little sister isn't wearing this skirt anymore so she gave it to me. It's a girl's size 10/12, but since it's poofy, it fits my hips just fine. It has almost three layers of skirt, so it is a lot of fun to wear. I feel like I should be going to a swing dance in the 1950's. Anyhow, I decided I better wear it soon since summer is almost over!

  2. You're such a pretty girl and I love your outfits, but why do you never look at the camera and smile for your pictures? :)

  3. Anonymous: I've answered this question many times before. Sorry it bothers people so much! lol! I try to smile and look at the camera, and have in several of my pictures (I've been doing this for a year and a half almost). However, it is very hard to have a real smile when no one takes my pictures (I set the camera on a table or ledge or whatever is available) and I have to hold my smile for 10 whole seconds while I wait for the picture to take. Usually my smile pictures come out cheesy, and my smile looks very fake or comes out more like a snarl. It is easier for me to look away so the attention is on my outfit, not my smiling face.

  4. Love how the belt brings it all together!
This is off topic but I was wondering if you could recommend an eyelash curler. A fairly inexpensive one. :)

  5. Ellie,

    Thanks!

I don't use eyelash curlers because I'm afraid they will break my eyelashes, so unfortunately I can't really recommend any. You should pose the question on the Domestic Sophisticate Facebook and see if any of our readers have some recommendations for you.

  6. I know you're quite petite, but it's hard to tell by the pictures. By that I mean, you're really good about maintaining proper proportions with your clothes. You always look sophisticated -- never like a little girl (even if you're in a little girl's dress!).
