41 Weeks and Counting

I tried to prepare myself for being overdue by telling myself and others that I would be super late again like I was with my last pregnancy, but I couldn't help but hope that that last pregnancy was just a fluke - that this pregnancy would be different. I had a really good attitude during the whole of my last pregnancy, but for some reason I just can't seem to keep a clear perspective with this pregnancy.

Honestly, I am extremely depressed that I am this late. I am upset that my doctor's tell me a different story each time about how far they will let me go or what they will do to induce me, and I am doubly discouraged over all the false or prodromal labor I've been having. Every night I think this might be it, and every morning I wake up still pregnant. Looking back these extra couple of weeks won't mean a thing, but right now I'm in the throes of heightened hormone surges, lots of body aches, tons of contractions, icky morning sickness that seems to get worse each day, and sleepless nights.

I know the right answers to all of this. That it is good to let my body progress naturally. That a baby will come when it's ready, regardless of your due date. That due dates don't really mean anything. That I am perfectly healthy and normal. That inductions aren't safe for a VBAC. That it is so worth it. That I should just be so grateful that our baby is healthy and that so am I (the list of positives could go on and on) . . .

In hopes of getting myself out of this slump, I spent the morning hemming this new dress I bought last weekend and have decided to take my children to their school co-op and attend my husband's work party tonight. With make-up, styled hair, and a new dress, I'll at least look like I'm handling all this well. Maybe by the end of the day I will have convinced myself of all of these positive thoughts that are really in fact the truth and what I should be thinking.

Until then, your thoughts and prayers for a grateful heart, a cheerful attitude, and a more self sacrificing love for this incredible blessing God has given me would be much appreciated!

Sunday

It's been a busy week. The children and I went up to Michigan to see my parents who were expecting my Dad's cousins in from New Jersey for the week. I wanted to be with the family for that, so off we went on another little mini trip. It was great to see some of my siblings, my parents, my grandparents, and meet Dad's cousins for the first time. I love my family!

This will be my last trip before the baby comes. I have a good two months yet, so the idea of not going anywhere for two months is starting to make me antsy already.

This week is the start of fair week, so I've got to get my booth preparations done before Wednesday night when I have to set up the booth. Lots of painting to do yet.

Outside of fair preparations, and then working at the fair, I think it will be a pretty lax week. I hope to get some posts up here and there and will definitely plan to get a picture of the painting I'm working on for the fair up on the blog soon.

June Wedding

I wore this to a lovely wedding last night. Not so sure how I feel about my belly button being so prominent in this dress, but not quite sure what to do about it either. I considered duct tape, but thought the tape marks might look worse. I've tried the belly band, but it still pokes through. I might have to do some research about it. For the record, I have an innie when I'm not pregnant.

The Wedding

I wore this dress I found on the clearance racks at Target from the Liz Lange maternity collection to my brothers' wedding last week. It was a gorgeous wedding! I happened upon the dress by chance and thought it might match the wedding colors. As you can see in the picture above with my sisters, it was pretty close!

Outfit Post: Gray Sweater Dress

At church today some ladies came up to me to ask if I was due since they didn't think I could possibly get any larger...
Then almost right after that, a couple came up to me and said I looked so small and was shocked to find out I only had a month left, because they thought I had at least two or more months yet.
People are so funny.

Are you noticing my crazy curls? I just got a Corioliss curling wand from Misikko - it takes a lot of work, but it gives a totally different kind of curl than a curling iron does, and is a lot of fun! My husband said my hair looks like a little girl's doll's hair. Not sure if that's good or not - but I'm still practicing with the wand and plan on achieving some better looks with it. I'll be doing a product review on it soon!

Inspired

In the dead of winter my dear friend, Kristen, wore a pretty blue dress and pastel yellow cardigan, with the most adorable creamy floral scarf yesterday. After seeing her in all her cuteness I had to try to copy her look with my own version. Not as cute as the look she created but it's making me looking forward to dress wearing weather again!
and a funny pic to show off my massive belly bump:) Two and half months left! woohoo!

Sunday School

I teach 2yr old Sunday School on Sunday mornings. I try to find outfits that are girly but still allow me to get on the floor with the kids without being indecent. So today it's a dress with leggings. Scarf for on the way there
And without. Jade is wearing a new dress too so I told her she should get in the pics with me.
