30 Weeks!

I labeled this post 29 weeks because I wore this yesterday, when I was still 29 weeks . . . however, today I'm 30 WEEKS! I'm so excited that I'm in the 30's now! Only 10 more weeks to go, but who's counting, right? ha!

I thought I'd wear this as a dress by itself because when I first tried it on about two months ago, I was still small enough that the dress wasn't too short in front. Now that my bump is this large, dresses are getting quite a bit shorter on me, so I had to add the leggings. It only got up to 68 degrees yesterday anyway, so the extra coverage added much needed warmth.

Decided I'm pretty much rocking an 80's hairdo these days. I'm growing out my bangs and layers and desperately trying to get my hair to fall towards the back of my head instead of all in my eyes. Teasing and hairspray accomplishes that task - hence the big hair and high bangs.

Thinking About Jeans

It seems ages ago that I've been able to wear a normal pair of jeans. With Fall coming sooner than I expected (we've had a cold front come in this past weekend), I've found myself window shopping for Fall's latest jean styles from Simons and wishing I was my normal size again. Until then, I'll rock these summer jeans (that are about 5 sizes larger than my pre-pregnancy size) and hope that the pregnancy weight comes off fast enough for me to buy a new pair of jeans in maybe . . . March? (fingers crossed).

Summer Stripes

I noticed today that I have four striped dresses in my closet - all wearable for the duration of this pregnancy. I love how fresh stripes look in the summer, whether modern like this dress, or nautical like my other dresses.

Yesterday was one of those knock down drag out fight days with my children. For some reason they just decided that they would answer "no" to everything I asked (and I wasn't asking anything crazy). By the end of the day I was ready to resign my post as Mother.

Over dinner, instead of sweet talk of how my husband's and my day went, I ended up ranting about the children (in front of them, no less). After my dinner rant, I was off to yoga, which was exactly what I needed to settle down. My husband had the kids in bed by the time I got back, and then I spent the rest of the evening mulling over all my parenting mistakes which I assumed lead to the demise of yesterday.

Before I fell asleep I read this article, and it made me smile and realize how temporary all this is. One day I will miss even days like yesterday.

Navy and Peach

If you haven't noticed, I've gained quite a bit of weight during this pregnancy. My doctor mentioned that I should probably work hard at not gaining much more. I've been trying to watch what I eat and stay active, but my tendency in previous pregnancies is to gain at least double the recommended weight. With all the traveling we've been doing the past few months, maintaining healthy eating habits and regular exercise routines has been difficult. Not to mention only having two weeks off of morning sickness! But I'm pleased to announce that I've held this same weight for three weeks now! I'm so excited about this and hope that I can continue to stall the weight gain.

Today is a good day!

Maxi Dresses In the Rain

I don't know what I was thinking when I picked out a maxi dress to wear on a rainy day. The wet parking lot at the grocery store got the bottom 6 inches of my dress soaked. Brilliant.

We spent this past weekend at a lake up in Michigan with some friends. I normally love the sun, water, and heat, but found that I don't enjoy it as much when I'm this pregnant. I still had fun, but I avoided the jet ski and took several breaks indoors. I felt like a party pooper, but at least I kept my sanity.
