Outfit Post: Last Day of March

I have to confess, I have lots of new shoes and clothing items that have yet to make it on this blog for the mere fact that I don't want anything worn out looking before my trip to Italy at the end of Spring. For instance, this outfit would look so much better with my new gladiator wedge sandals, but I wear out my shoes so quickly, I'm trying to keep putting the miles on my old shoes to save my new ones.
I love the neckline on this blouse. The ruffles and the print are so much fun! I only wish that it was either a little longer, or if it had to be this short, some princess darts would have been more attractive I think.
Interesting fact about these jeans. They are my very first pair of skinny jeans ever. I got them on sale and then added a coupon to get them for $20 at Express. I bought them about 4 or 5 years ago. Yes, it took me a while to join the bandwagon of skinny jean fans.
And this is my model shot - the wind was blowing at just the right angle at just the right time.

Top - J.Crew - thrifted $1.50
Jeans - Express - $20

Outfit Post: Purple Ruffles

I am more recovered from that virus than I was yesterday and am feeling fabulous! This morning was my first run in 5 days, and it was exactly what I needed to make me feel normal again. The weather was so cool, that I didn't even have to take a shower after my run - just had to wash my face. So of course, I was thinking of a summer/fall crossover outfit for today.
My little boy, who is rapidly becoming not so little these days, wanted me to take a picture of his PJs, and I think he's so cute, I had to show him off to you all this morning.
It is supposed to get nice and warm later on today, so I'll be down to just the sleeveless blouse sans sweater and belt by the end of the day - but for now, I can cozy up with this sweater.
Sweater - hand-me-down from my little sister
Blouse - Wal-Mart - $3
Jeans - J.Brand (via Ebay) - gifted
Leather sandal booties - Target - $7
Big gold earrings - gifted
Leather belt - Ann Taylor - $3.88

Hope you all have a fabulous weekend planned!

Giveaway from Designer Apparel

Want to win this pair of fabulous art deco earrings by Erin Wasson?

Designer Apparel, an awesome shopping search engine for designer fashions, is offering these earrings to one of our USA/Canada readers. Their site takes you straight to amazing designers like Isabel Marant and Kate Spade, to smaller labels like Berek.

While you know I'm all for a good bargain, and rarely ever sport designer apparel on this site (only if J.Brand jeans from Ebay and Coach bags count? loL!), every once in a while I think certain occasions can call for a special item...and using Designer Apparel's search engine is a great way to get that designer piece your craving for the best price!

So to enter this giveaway, all you have to do is tell me who your favorite designer is and why. Also, make sure you leave contact info so I can let you know if you won. You have up until September 1st to enter the giveaway.

Good luck!

Outfit Post: Backwards

I bought this top a couple of sizes too large, and am loving how the extra fabric drapes.
I decided to wear my belt backwards to keep the attention on the tie knot detail on the blouse, instead of the belt...and I liked the extra detail the buckle gives the back of the top.

And here is a close-up of the cami just so that there are no misunderstandings as to my modesty standards. Plus, I like the chandelier earrings I'm wearing and wanted to show you all those too. :-)

Top - Ann Taylor - $5.88
Belt - Ann Taylor - $3.88
Cami (bra cami) - Dillards - $5
Denim pencil skirt - Gap - $17
Wedge sandals - JCPenney - $8
Earrings - Macy's - $2

One of those days

It was a rough day...didn't get any sleep last night (literally), and had to go to the office today instead of working from home like I normally do. Due to how miserable I felt from the wretched night, and to the snowy weather, I wore jeans to the office.

And for those who think the scowl on my face is my intent to pose like a model...no, I meant to scowl. It's hard to smile when you've been awake all night with the worst stomach ache a person has ever had. And yes, it was that bad.

Sweater - Express - gifted
Jeans - Express - $19.99
Boots - Aerosoles - $29
Gold earrings - vintage
Necklace worn as bracelet - thrifted - $1
Cuff bracelet - Claire's - $1

New red top

I found this new eyelet top at Marshalls this week. I didn't think much of it at first, but once in the dressing room I was staring at the original tag and saw that it normally retailed for $140.00. I looked at the Marshalls tag which said the normal retail would be for only $40 and then looked at the fabulous red sale sticker for only $10. Once I got home I googled the brand called "Hale Bob" after viewing the website I'm pretty certain that I just bought a $140 top for only $10 bucks. Hee, hee. And it's even kinda cute;)
Regarding my belt (I'm so talkative today), you can't see it on the outfit, since my shirt covers it, but I had to pick the leopard print belt since I am feeling sexy in a very confident, casual sort of way. I once heard Will Smith say he was feeling sexy and when asked why he said "because I have a secret that nobody knows about" when prodded to reveal the secret he said it was because he was wearing an amazing belt, that he knew was amazing and sexy, but no one could see because his sweater was covering it. But he knew, and that was all that mattered.
These are some of my favorite earrings, given to me by my sis Nic (thanks Nic!) So I had to do a close up to show everyone. Happy Thursday ya'll!

Red top ~ Marshalls $10
Dark wash Jeans ~ Fred Meyer $20
White Tank ~ Gap $7
Leopard print belt ~ Target $6
Yellow T-strap sandals ~ JCP $11
Red earrings ~ Gifted

Hoop Earrings

Hoop earrings are one of the hottest trends this season. Gold are the most popular, but silver works too.
