It's the Weekend!

We had some storms come through Wednesday night causing the power at my husband's office to go out yesterday, which meant that we had him home all day! We ended up getting some house projects done, but as you can see behind me, we have so many more to tackle yet.

Outfit Post: Rainy Day

Slept in too late this morning and then had to rush to get ready for an appointment I had. In my head, I thought this outfit would look so cool, but once I got it on I realized my body has a ways to go before things actually look the way they look in my head! lol! Nevertheless, I'm grateful things are going back to normal as quick as they are and am hoping I can drop these last 15 pounds fast! And yes, my hair is still wet from the shower. That's how behind I was this morning!

Outfit Post: Breakfast with friends

I would like to try to keep things interesting here while Nic is resting before the baby arrives. I would have posted all winter, but because I live in Florida, my outfits are much different than most everywhere else. Now that the weather is coming back around, what I wear everyday is more relevant.

Here goes....

I went out to breakfast with friends this morning. It felt like a Spring morning (even in Florida), so I dressed accordingly.

I do not like the fit of the capris, because I feel like they make my calves look larger than I'd like, but they were the only "in between" that went with this outfit.

Outfit Post: New Maternity Top

So I've finally bought a maternity top. This is the first actual maternity top that I've bought so far in this pregnancy. I spent more on it than I normally spend on a top, but it's hard to find really great deals on maternity, so I justified the higher cost.

Top - Motherhood (via Kohl's) - $18
Capris - Gap - $7
Boots - Aerosoles - $29
Earrings - Target - gifted
Hat - Old Navy - $.97

Outfit Post: Fatigue and Cream

I recently received a question from a reader about tucking capris into boots, or wearing them untucked out of boots. I haven't had much luck with this look, so I referred her to this post of Angie's over at You Look Fab. Nevertheless, I decided to give the look one more try with these pants today.
I have them tucked in my boot, and like it a lot! They didn't look good untucked, but I think I might try this again with these pants.
And then just as I was finished with these pictures, I remember I had a hat that matched these pants...I love wearing hats!

Outfit Post: Sneakers and Crazy Photos

I wasn't going to post today, because I'm not going out of the house today except to go for a walk - and I didn't feel like being creative with my outfit. But my son told me that my shoes were so cool, I had to take a picture!
So here are my cool shoes - just plain old sneakers from Crewcuts (I wear kids sizes better than adult sizes).
And since I was already obliging my son by taking these photos, I decided to also oblige him and take a crazy photo. This one is his favorite, so this is the one crazy photo you get to see.

Top - H&M - $5
Capris - Gap - $7
Sneakers - Crewcuts - $19
Venetian glass earrings - gifted

Outfit Post: Army green and cream

My Mom passed on to me these striped Steve Madden heels! I hope to get plenty of wear out of them, even if they are a tad too big. My Mom and I wear the same size shoe, so she gave them to me because she was tired of them flopping off her heel as she walks. The same thing happens to me, but I'm willing to put up with the irritation long enough for quite a few outfits. We both tried heel pads to keep them from slipping, but they still slip. Oh well. It's worth it.

Shoes - Steve Madden - hand-me-down
Pants - Gap - $7
Top - Wal-Mart - $3
Earrings - Premier Jewelry - $21

Gardening and Femininity

Pink knit top - hand-me-down
Camisole - hand-me-down
Capris - by Hydraulic - hand-me-down
Leather wedges - Off Broadway - $19.99
Pink rhinestone stud earrings - Wal-Mart - $1.00

Looks like my son is trying, yet again, to get in the picture!

I couldn't help but wear this hat, because I'm going to pick up some seeds to start a vegetable/herb garden and will be out in the sun all day gardening...

Hat - thrifted - $1.00

Pink scarf - came from a pair of shorts I bought from Aeropostale

And yes - me in my bare, but soon to be full garden!

I feel very Scarlett O'Hara today even though I'm not wearing a hoop skirt. Something about this floppy hat matched with pink is just so feminine! Of course, I'm not brave enough to wear it anywhere but in my garden!
