Columbus Field Trip

Chris got called in for an impromptu trip out to Columbus to speak at a conference there for work. The kids and I decided to tag along and make a field trip out of it. The kids did so well even though we had a very cold day for sightseeing. We started out with breakfast at Starbucks, then a private tour at the Statehouse, went to the top floor of the Rhodes Tower for an aerial view of the city, and then on to the Columbus Museum of Art where the kids got to participate in a lot of hands-on art projects throughout the museum.

I love being able to just drop what we're doing and head out on educational trips like this. Not only do we get to stay with Chris, but we get to see new places and learn in exciting ways.

They found our County on the Ohio state map in the lobby of the Capitol!

Beautiful rotunda area.

Cassi was fascinated!

So many buttons to push!

Aerial view of the Statehouse.

Lego building was their favorite.
